Children’s Sunday school is a great way to teach Bible basics, native missionaries in Burma (Myanmar) reasoned, so why not use it to evangelize? The missionaries trained Bible college students to go out on Sunday mornings and invite children, most of them from Buddhist families, to what they called Good News Club.

For a government official of a Muslim country to leave Islam was unthinkable. But he decided to secretly put his faith in Christ. Living near a port city, his position had earned him great status and wealth. He had the faith to attend worship services at an established church pastored by the native missionary who led him to Christ, but he didn’t risk baptism.

A year ago a large mob of tribal villagers in southern Mexico, armed with guns, ordered two native missionaries to leave for preaching about Christ. Deeply suspicious of anyone outside their village, the tribal people feared that the native missionaries were going to draw people away from their religious mixture of indigenous and Catholic practices. Already two families were paying close attention to the Bible.

Winter is slowly killing Syrian refugees in Turkey, and native missionaries are praying for help. “Refugees are physically weaker now, as we can see just from looking at them,” a native ministry leader said, adding that cancer is increasing due to the harsh conditions. “Their already weakened bodies will not get enough food, and some of them may not survive the winter”

A team of 26 native missionaries prayed that it would not rain during a recent outreach to a village in West Africa, because most of them would be sleeping in the open air. The village in central Togo had little space for visitors to spend the night. They managed to find a small shanty to rent for the women, and the others slept on the ground or on benches. No rain water fell, but later stones did rain down on some of them.
