Equip Missionaries For Evangelism in Ethiopia

The wife of a high-ranking official and member of an esteemed Muslim family became interested in Jesus because of the stories about him in the Quran. She asked her Christian neighbor for a Bible, and John 3:16 impacted her so much that she visited three missionaries to discuss the gospel.

Workers with a ministry that has a nationwide outreach led over 18,000 people to faith in Christ over the course of six months through online proclamation of the gospel, medical missions, Bible studies, and other outreaches. Around 5,600 of these new believers were added through post-trauma evangelical conferences that the ministry held in the aftermath of the three-year civil war.

In a recent one-day evangelistic campaign, a ministry mobilized churches to spread word of Christ’s salvation in personal conversations in an urban area, resulting in 45 people repenting and putting their trust in Christ.

Civil war has displaced millions and brought unimaginable suffering. At the same time, drought continues in some areas and seasonal flooding in others, driving hundreds of thousands of people from their homes, all amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Native missionaries had local knowledge and connections to provide the displaced with medical supplies, blankets and mattresses, as well as food such as rice, flour and oil.
